Finally after 13 years, you can craft nametags. Gone are the days of searching for hours to try to get a basic item, now you can name all your animals without worrying about running out of tags. The new recipe is simple, just one paper and one of any nugget, copper, iron or gold, arranged like so:
Ever have a adorable baby axolotl and think, "I wish I could keep this a baby forever" well now you can! The golden axolotl is a new item in Minecraft that is crafted from a dandelion flower surrounded by golden nuggets. When fed to a baby animal, they will no longer grow up. Feed it one again, and it reverses the effect, allowing them to grow again.
Now, last but definitely not least, Mojang has decided to redo many of the games baby mobs, making them not just shrunk down versions of their adults forms, but rather infinitely more adorable. A few samples can be found below:
My personal favorites of the many retextured baby mobs is the new chicken, the baby chick model is so cute and I feel Mojang did an amazing job with it. Maybe this will finally stop people from making auto chicken farms? Doubt it but maybe.
Another absolutely adorable mob is the new baby axolotl, a mob which desperately needed an update as while cute before, the new version is so, so much better:
While I could talk about these new mobs all day, its most important to note the direction Mojang is taking with these updates, instead of once a year decent sized updates, their new drops system of smaller more frequent updates is something I and many others greatly appreciate.
This new pet focused update seems to have great potential for being a great quality of life update, and in my opinion that is the right direction for Mojang to take, we need more fun, cute and helpful updates such as this (and an End update please!!!) , so in conclusion, an update focused around cute animals and quality of life with things such as name tags and forever baby animals is certainly something to appreciate.
